Allen-Edmonds Reviews
Great fit, great materials, great craftsmanship. I am hard to please, but I will be buying these in black also. The only shoe I have ever been able to wear over 8 hours in a day and still be comfortable.
The right shoe made excessive annoying noise. Even though it is made in America it uses imported leather. Not as well made as Alden shoes. Also it seemed longer than I expected.
I just purchased this belt and it is a very nice accessory. My only issue is that I purchased Allen-Edmonds beacuse I wanted a belt made in America and it was but unfortunately, it was made in the U.S.A. from foreign materials. Hard to imagine that they could not source the raw goods from this country.
Anyone who knows about Allen Edmonds knows they make one of the best shoes around. They last a long time, look better as they age, and can be recrafted to last even longer. The Lasalles are particularly nice because from the outside they look like your typical AE shoe. However, it is one of the few AE that has a padded insole that gives you out-of-the-box comfort. Whereas most AEs have a hard leather sole with cork backing that molds to your foot over time, these Lasalles are more plush. The insole is still leather, but there isn't a months-long break-in period. The uppers and outsole are a little stiff out of the box, but everyone knows that they break in and will ultimately be much stronger than a leather that's suppler from the beginning. One note about cosmetics: while I love the chili color, I could do without the burnished toe...it's subtle, but I don't think AE should be chasing trends too much on shoes that are meant to last a lifetime.
Purchased for my graduating son. He likes the style, fit and comfort. Occasionally he wears a narrow but kept the medium in these.
These are not quite the Brooks Brosthers Peel, but certainly the next best thing - for considerably less! 10½ runs true to size. There was a roughly two day break-in period. These are classy classic shoes. Thumbs up.
Great shoe as you'd expect from Allen-Edmonds. I have seldom worn them when I wasn't complimented on these shoes. Who knew "wing tips" could look so current. Look great with khakis or jeans. The unfinished heel and sole edges look great but don't show up well in the images.
Nice shoe. Heel is too wide and lets your heel slip far too much. Very nice if you have wide heels though.
I'll make this short and sweet. Great looking shoe. Perfect fit (if you don't measure your foot occasionally in a shoe store with a Brannock Device, don't blame he shoemaker). Superb quality leather and craftsmanship. And, on top of it all, American made at a very fair price. How can one go wrong. On top of all this, after you've worn the daylights out of them, you can send them to the AE factory for a complete rebuild and they come back looking like new for a fraction of the original cost. It's great to be able to enjoy a top quality product made in the USA and not Europe or Asia. I'd recommend this shoe to anyone.
These chukka's will not disappoint! Top quality suede, solid craftsmanship, beautiful styling and a leather sole. AE has even added some additional heel padding to make these even more comfortable. Fit great out of the box, no bloody heels or uncomfortable break-in like Clarks. I have about 10 pairs of AE shoes and they really are a great company! They're also recraftable which means they'll last a good 20-30 years. Buy once, buy right!
Very disappointing, I need a shoe slightly wider than regular (d) but the wider sizes are not wide enough across the toe area and are too loose at the heel.
Read the reviews first off and they really helped me gauge what size to buy. On AE shoe chart I am a 14 1/2 B width. I ordered 14 D and the shoe fits so well. The most comfortable new shoe I have ever worn. My staff could not stop talking about how attractive and professional the shoe looked.
I got the Blue version of the shoe and love the detail and quality. I range from 10 to 10.5 normally. I am 10 in this shoe.
Great shoe, but beware that this is Allen-Edmonds' low end line. That means you can't have it restored to mint condition like you can their more expensive shoes. Still probably worth the money.
Love the look of this shoe. Only problem is it's not a comfortable shoe. I'm going back to Ecco and their clunky but comfortable shoes.
This is an excellent shoe that will last a long time. Once you have the correct fit it molds to your foot like a glove. Heavy with solid feel that seems like it will last a long time.Keep in mind this AE longest Last so if you have a wide foot it will feel narrow order a wide, and it runs long, almost a half to a full size larger than normal.
These shoes are wonderful. I buy these because I keep my shoes a long time. The opportunity to have these recrafted down the road makes them even more appealing. I wear them with the blue super feet insoles. Marvelous!
Great, versatile shoe. Fairly comfy right out of the box. Walnut is the way to go here.I normally wear a 9D, but in this last I had to size down a full size and go a bit wider to an 8E. Hope that helps.
After hearing about these shoes for years, I finally decided to make the move. The shoes are very well made, but I've had serious buyers remorse. I used AE's sizing guide very carefully. Was also encouraged to allow the shoes a break in period. Bottom line, the shoes are too small and uncomfortable to wear. I've worn them enough to break them in, but worn them too much to return them (in my own conscientious understanding of the Zappos community). Alas, not worth the money for me.
The Kenilworth shoes are excellent. They are very comfortable shoes. They let people know you have high quality taste. These shoes are of good quality. You will not regret buying a pair of Allen-Edmond shoes.
The shoe was a bit smaller than usual for an 8.5, which is why I went with the E width. It worked out, since my foot is right in between D and E widths for most shoes. The leather was very soft and comfortable, and the construction is what you'd expect for AE. These are a little wider at the arch than Park Avenues, which is good for me, since I find PAs uncomfortable.
