I truly wanted to love this shoe. I wear other Altra styles almost exclusively and LOVE them. I was so excited to see a casual shoes from Altra that was not obviously an athletic style. I ordered a 9.5 because that's what I use in other styles and the length was fine, but it was so large in the heel that it flopped on my foot. I would have felt I was in slippers and would probably have tripped at some point. Most women have a narrow heel and wider forefoot, so you would think that Altra would know to keep the heel a bit tighter. Too bad for me and Altra. They had to go back.

I really wanted to like these shoes, as they seemed, in print, to be able to solve my foot issues. However, they are extremely narrow from the midfoot to the heel and I measure as an actual narrow. I could feel the rigid support ring around my heels and my feet went over the edges of the shoe, causing pain. The toe box is awesome, though. I also felt the fit and finish on this shoe was lacking. No padding on the inside, just rough stitching and rough, scratchy material. I've already tried another style of Altras and will try one more before I give it up. I can't see how anyone with flat feet (these are supposed to help that) could wear these as your feet will spill over the edges. Thanks to Zappos for allowing me to continue to search for the perfect shoe for me!

The shoes fit to size. I run 40-50 miles a week. The Torin has just the right amount of cushion to help pad the distance without feeling like I'm running on a heavy bed cushion. I love the wide toe box.

My podiatrist has ordered me to wear only this Olympus 2.5 (unattractive)sneaker. No more sandals, no more barefoot and no more cowboy boots. Reasons: I have Morton's neuroma and any squeeze in the metatarsal area makes it much worse. I have a very high arch and no pronation. The zero drop and very roomy foot-shape to the shoe makes my foot pain very minimal. I would ask Altra footwear to throw in a free t-shirt with every sneaker ordered that says: "My podiatrist is making me wear this ugly shoe", but my feet feel fantastic. Come to think of it, seems to me that all shoes should be made in the shape of an actual foot. Very important: This sneaker runs a full size small....order up one full size.

I'm using these comfortable shoes as cross trainers. The natural foot fit, slightly cushioned ride and light weight are perfect for my exercise routines. Love Altras. Great shoe. Unfortunately, most people are clueless to the negative effects of narrow toe boxes and high heel to toe drop shoe designs. Keep it going Altra. Zappos is the best too.

These shoes are amazing! Comfortable and cute with shorts, jeans or a skort, they are the perfect travel shoe as they are meant to convert to a slide, which is ideal on a plane. They do run small, as I normally wear a 5, a 5.5 was too small will be getting a 6. Love these!

Great shoe. Allows room for toes and fantastic traction on technical trails. Cushion is perfect. The best shoe I've ever run in.

Run small. Buy at least a 1/2 larger than regular size. Width and foot bed are excellent. Have flat feet and these have great support. Pricey but worth the price.

After ordering and returning so many shoes, sandals and sneakers, that were no longer wide enough for my foot - I hit the jackpot with this sneaker. Although it is marked a medium width, the extra roomy toe box was pure heaven and did not crush the sides of my feet together. I did read other reviews and went up a half a size and it is a perfect fit. And thank you Zappos for this great benefit of not only carrying my hard to find size but the free shipping and returns.

Truly the best shoes I have ever owned. I liked them so much I bought my daughter a pair too, they are waterproof and held up to months of hiking in New Zealand and Europe. Perfect shoes!

We we bought a pair of running shoes for our little boy that were too big. Jenni from customer service was awesome in getting those returned and new ones sent out. I just bought another pair of sandals for my boy and plan on getting some for myself when the size 12 are available. !!

I so wanted to keep these shoes, but there were two issues. As for sizing, I wear a 5 and ordered the 5.5, which was fine. The shoe is slightly short as other reviewers have written. 1. The inside of the arch on the right shoe cut into my foot. It felt as if the shoe was too narrow, or it could have been because the arch was too high. Either way, it was only on the right shoe. I've never had this issue with any shoes. A friend of mine (male) said he had this same issue with a pair of Altra shoes he tried to buy, although older Altra shoes did not have this issue for him. 2. The heel came up too high in the back and cut into my achilles. Astra's shoe pattern didn't account for the fact that a smaller size shoe is typically for a shorter person, and the heel tab needs to be adjusted proportionally. The good news for those with larger sized feet is that the toe box is well-designed and provides enough room, even for those who need that extra space for the toes. This shoe also has decent cushioning and is light weight. I hope Altra takes feedback into consideration because I'd love to be able to wear their shoes.

Bought the 2.5 Torin while my plantar fasciitis was in "full flare up". Wore the shoe - no pain. Take the shoe off - as bit of pain. Kept wearing the shoe, receiving many compliments, over the wide toe bed. Took it off and had only a tiny amount of pain. Now I wear them everyday and am completely comfortable in the shoe, on or off. Love wearing it because of the zero drop which seems to stretch my achilles tendon and has been a miracle for my plantar fasciitis!

I really wanted to like these sneakers. They have a wonderfully round, wide forefront and thick sole. I do a lot of walking and need that thick sole support. I was able to walk just a few blocks in these due to pain on the outer side of my foot. The heel goes straight down whereas I need an angled heel that reduces the stress on the foot/knee at heel strike.I thought this had a rocker bottom- it doesn't. I have a foot w/abnorm biomechanics that stresses my metatarsals more than avg. Perhaps it will work for someone else. As per reviews, I ordered 1/2 size up. This size was good but very hard to get my foot into the shoe and the laces are a bit short.

I just returned from a 4 week trip to France, walking on average 20,000 steps per day. This is about my 6th pair of Altras. I got the Lone Peak boot over the winter and found it really comfortable after a bad bout of Plantar Fasciitis during the fall. I had absolutely no foot pain or discomfort this trip which included museums and cobblestones in Paris to rocky trails in Brittany. I did have to size up to a 12 in the shoe altho I am comfortable in the 11 in the boot. If you are looking for minimalist, Altra has gone away from this with this shoe as there is arch support and a thick sole. It is a very different shoe from my first Lone Peaks in 2013. They are wide enough to accommodate my foot comfortably with Injinji toe socks and Correct Toes toe spacers. I do have to do an alternate lacing pattern(shown on the Altra website) on one shoe to get it tight enough around my narrow heel. I always travel with MELT Method balls to roll my feet in case I feel PF flaring up but did not have to use them at all during this trip. These shoes were perfect for my needs. They are porous, as I found when I walked on a beach in them and gathered a lot of grit in my shoes.

Very, very comfortable. Love a toe box wide enough across the ball of the foot that does not squish my toes! I did order 1/2 size up from my usual, based on others' reviews

I have a neuroma and these are so freaking comfortable I want to buy 20 more pairs. I can finally run again without pain.
