Classic standby. Always a long lasting boot. Ordered a wide and indeed it's a better fit.

Pros: Price, 100% leather, classic style, comfortable Cons: Size runs 1/2 size big, a tad bulky, foam rubber sole First observation is these boots do run big. Ordering 1/2 size down may save you some grief. I wear Chippewa's service boot in 11.5 so naturally I thought the same size in this line. Wrong. They were too big. Had to do an 11 in these. These boots are more toward the "work" boot style. A little bulky, so the sizing makes sense. These are not dress boots, nor would I say they're a direct replacement for Chippewa's service boot (I have 2 pairs of those), iron rangers, or 1000 mile's. These can be an everyday boot for the street, jobsite, trail, whatever your liking, just have to recognize they are a step down from the premium boots around priced $300. The leather is decent for the price, more of a brushed leather, good color, sole is so so, it's spongy and made of foam rubber, I hope it lasts and can be replaced if worn out, time will tell. Moral here is you get what you pay for. If you don't mind spending $300 on boots and like chippewa's go for the service boot, they're better all around, if not, these are ok for $150. Depends really what you're after.

Beautiful, sturdy, and hard-working, this shoe has it all plus on fatal flaw: the tongue is like a dull blade pushing slowly into your skin. It's as painful as it sounds. A pity too, because it's the only design flaw I could find, but it's a deal breaker. I don't mind breaking in boots, but I don't think this is something that's ever going to soften up enough to stop chaffing my ankles.

Excellent boot. I was on the fence with these and Iron Rangers but I liked the color of these better. They are drastically lighter in color, almost orange in the photos but when I got them they were a really nice tone. So much so that I made sure to treat them with a paste that didn't really alter the color. These are my first real work boots (I wear them for a casual office job) so when I got them I thought I would need insoles but they were surprisingly comfortable initially and more so once the break in period was over. Don't rush then break in process though... learned that the hard way with a massive blister. Super pleased with these, great boot.

This is so close to a 5-star boot! I have worn mine in a warehouse environment (outside on pavement and inside on smooth concrete flooring) for about a year now (5 days/week at work). The good: the fit and feel is amazing! These boots are a second skin to my feet. I did put different insoles into them for better arch support. I also replaced the boot laces with paracord laces (because hey, Zombie Apocalypse!). I could go jogging in these boots. I have also conditioned them once or twice by wiping the dirt and then covering with waterproofing compound. The bad: One or two of the hook-eyelets bends often. I am not sure what causes it. Occasionally, I take the cap lifter on my multi-tool to pry it back open so the laces fit. I had this problem both with factory-supplied laces and the paracord upgrade laces. If it weren't for the eyelet issues on one boot, this would definitely be 5 stars. I would and will buy this boot again should the current ones wear out.

Bought this Boot because I was tired of my Florsheims falling apart. This Boot uses a Vibram hardened rubber sole and is tough with good looks.

Summary: Excellent boot overall. Get one size smaller. Takes a few weeks to wear into comfort. Then you've got a great boot for years to come. I read other reviews and got the boots one size smaller which was perfect I think. The initial comfort level was "you just bought a brand new pair of boots, you'll have to wear them in" and it's been a few weeks and I'm happy. You just have to realize that getting something that will last a really long time is worth the time to break it in. I'm the type who doesn't like to buy shoes period and so I think these will set me up for the next few years. I think the boots look good with jeans or slacks and so far the wear makes them look even better in my opinion. I'd recommend Chippewa to others.

Great boot--very hard to improve on this one. Will they feel like your favorite tassel loafers? No. But I don't think you can beat the comfort in another utility boot and still get one as rock-solid built and badass looking as this one. Imho, still the best lace-up utility out there.

These run true to your running show size. Too many folks saying they run big. They are designed to add insoles which bring them to the correct size. I suppose if you plan to not have any cushioning then they may run a hair big with thick socks. They are awesome in every way. Built solid and look great. They are thick quality leather and take some breaking in. I have boney ankles and always have issues with boots rubbing. Not these! Should get a lot of years out if them. Zappos is THE best place to buy shoes bar none!

Love these boots. Great color, although a little lighter than the picture shows. Very comfortable out of the box, no blisters with the break-in. Fit is perfect and true. Great boots, very satisfied!

I ordered a half size smaller than my usual sneaker size and it fits perfectly. I like the fact that though it is a work boot, it is not bulky looking and looks great with jeans even for office casual Fridays! Comfortable boot out of the box and great quality.

These boots are exactly what you want when you look for an American made solid leather work boot. It's a permanent addition. Everything about them is quality, and I have no idea how they get these boots like this, they come with a softer feel, and a bit of a worn look without being compromised. The fit is great, and the boot is just the real deal. The one thing I will say is that they lack a bit of the cushioning we've all gotten used to in our Nike sneakers and what not. This is easily remedied by adding an insole, but the sizing is very accurate, so you may be able to fit a heel cushion, or half foot into your boot after some break-in, but if you got the right size, you will never fit a full foot orthotic in the toe box. And, once you do put something in, you will miss seeing that stamped leather insole. But if you spend any amount of time on your feet you will need something to cushion a bit.

I was reluctant to spend this much money on something as simple as a pair of boots, but after experiencing blisters and discomfort after a few minutes in my current pair, I took a chance. Zappos return policy as help persuade me. I neede a pair for my Street Glide. I have a pair of HD boots that look awesome but after walking for 15-20 minutes, I needed to take them off. Complete waste of 150 bucks. I ordered these and receive them the following day. Some boots or shoes I wear a 7.5, so that's what I ordered first. They were a tad bit too small as my toe pressed against the toebox. I printed the return label and ordered the size 8. As soon as they arrived I put them on expecting a break in period, but they didn't need it. I continue to wear them every day expecting to get a blister or experience pain or discomfort. Not once did they ever feel uncomfortable. I've worn them every day since I bought them and it's been about two months. They're simply the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. Not only are they comfortable, but they're extremely warm but they do not cause my feet to sweat. I've even taken them on rides below 30° and they kept me warm and toasty. I just can't say enough about these boots. If you're on the fence, take full advantage of Zappos return policy and give them a shot. You won't be disappointed. I hope this helped.

Outstanding, well-made, good looking moc toe boot for daily wear. I tried on several boots before through zappos including the Redwing Moc Toe and Thorogood Moc Toe and found these to be the best in terms of comfort and quality. The leather on the cordovan color is excellent and hits the perfect balance in being rigid and supple at the same time. I know these will break in beautifully and can't wait until they are fully broken in. Runs about a half size large and feels like a true E width. You may pay a little more for this boot but when you put these on your feet you know you're going to have them for a lifetime.

Bought these boots as a gift for my nephew who is a firefighter/ems. They are great and he wears them all the time. They fit true to size and he loves them because they are comfortable and not too heavy when he is on his feet all day. These boots are very durable and are an all around great boot. Would definitely buy another pair!

I love these boots! I'd been looking for a classic heritage boot, and the options are pretty limited in women's sizes, but these meet all my requirements. They are beautiful and well made, and I've gotten several compliments on them. The Vibram sole is very comfortable. I was a little wary of how very stiff they were out of the box, I even tried a half size larger, but ended up sticking with my true size. After a week of wearing them with thick wool socks, I can already feel them starting to mold to my feet, so be prepared for some breaking in time. But that's what heritage boots are, right? A well made object that is shaped over time by its owner and becomes more unique, custom, and loved the more its worn.

Fantastic boots. Needed steel toe for construction sites and was not disappointed with Chippewa. Comfortable right out of the box. A little mink oil darkened the leather a little. Looks great. Squeaked the first two times on my feet and nothing since. Don't let the price scare you. Looks and function all in one package.

My boot search is also over! I can't count how many boots I have tried on but these are finally keepers. I think these are more stylish and more comfortable than iron rangers, I normally wear wide but am able to fit into these. I do wish they had a removable insole but these style of boots almost always have sewn in leather. However I was able to fit the thinnest superfeet into this. They renegade tan color is not pebbled. Great boot, still breaking them in. I foresee them lasting 5-10 years easy.
