I am new to running and these seem great. They are light, encourage the forward motion, and they are comfortable.

Great running shoe that encourages mid-foot strike pattern. Material around the first metatarsal is stretchable and conforms nicely to your foot. Extremely comfortable from the very first run. An improvement over the previous model of this shoe. Love the light weight of the shoe.

I love these shoes, but they definitely aren't for everyone. They have a very low heel-to-tow drop, they're very light, and they don't have a lot of cushion. For me, that means they're one of the few shoes that don't cause knee pain and shin splints. I also like the "lugs" and how they affect my stride, though I know that some people have a hard time getting used to them. I saw the other comment about the color. Mine are very bright pink, and the color seems accurate.

These shoes are great. I bought them for my boyfriend, who has had the Newton Motion III, and IV previously. He said that the tongue issues of the Motion IV had been corrected in this new version and that the shoe was comfortable and well constructed. The color is a nice green in person, and they look like a very cool retro running shoe with the white sole.

Definitely more cushioned than version V. Where the mesh meets the front of the shoe is right over my big toe, and it wasn't a comfortable feeling while running hills. So I sized up by a half from my normal Newton size.

These remodeled kismet are slightly different sizing that kismet I. New version are slightly smaller and narrower, so didn't work for me:(

Excellent shoes! I believe that Newton people have done their homework over Distance V. Roomy toe box, enforced string holes and added heal cushion just made these shoes perfect! came in about 10 days before marathon and I did my PR!

There is a weird plastic on the shoe that the old Kismet did not have. I did not like that material or the way it caused the tongue to lay against your foot.

I've been running in Newton Distances for a while now. This generation just feels different: the lugs seem to have less depth and are less springy. I instantly felt midfoot pain. Not sure why they changed what used to be a great running shoe.

Fit was good, the uppers of the shoe are very nice. The lugs were very strange and I could not find them comfortable.

I wore these for the first time four days after completing a half marathon. They felt amazing. They have more cushioning than the Gravity 5. This picture is nothing like the real color. This shows them as a bright medium pink but in person they are darker and what I would describe as fuchsia.

Decent shoe but a bit too still with the added support that this model is known for...just didn't feel right

Love Newton Running...converter almost 2 years ago and can no longer run with any other brand of shoes. Super lightweight, raced a half marathon and marathon and PRed both thanks to the Newton Distance Elite. the 4 lug has great response and stability.

This is my fifth pair of Newtons and I have to say that my body feels so much better running and dancing in them. They support is great. This shoe is great, but runs about 1/2 to 1 full size smaller than any of my other Newtons.

These are very comfortable shoes. I use them as every day and running shoes. They work very well for running and are still comfortable after a full day of wearing them.

Great shoe, great support during run and walk. I am new to Fates, but I think this might be my new favorite running shoe! Had to order half size bigger since they run a bit small. Thank you!

These run very small. This is my 4th pair of Newton Kismets. My first pair was an 8.5. My 2nd and 3rd pairs were 9's. This new model runs even smaller. I think I need a 10 to have more room, which is crazy. I do not care for model update. disappointed.

These are running smaller comparing to my newton running gravity. Will have to try half size bigger and see if it does the trick! Thank you zappos!

I've been wearing the Distance Elite for about 5 years and purchased about 6 pairs when they were in the pink color since I was afraid of how each new style would fit...as the last few styles didn't work so well. Well this style fits just as awesome! I run without socks and these are perfect since they have the same mesh as the older version. The size seems to be about a half size larger. I always wore a 9 for running but this new version I went down to an 8.5. Wish there were more colors choices though. I run every distance up through Ironman and these have been great.

Cute shoes, not enough support for my special needs.

I CONFIRMED WITH NEWTON FLAGSHIP STORE IN BOULDER, CO THAT THE KISMET II IS RUNNING SMALL BY A FULL TO HALF SIZE!! I have the Kismet I and blindly ordered the same size without reading the previous review. Newton Running here in Boulder, CO confirmed that I should try on locally first if I want to buy online. I love Newton running shoes and my Kismet I. Apart from the initial fit of the Kismet II, I expect the technical aspects of the Kismet II to be consistent. I wanted to post this review before I try on locally to prevent anyone from ordering the same size as their Kismet I and will update my new size based on my 11.5 from the Kismet I to give a frame of reference.
