I'm not sure what Newton's done, but the sole wears out very quickly! I only got 173 miles out of this shoe and the inner side of the front of the heel (close to the midfoot) wore down so much that my foot tilts inward when I stand on it. I had to stop using these at that point because I was getting a lot of pain in my ankle when I tried to run in these shoes. I've been running in Newton Gravity since 2008 (as well as other Newton models) and I normally get 300+ miles out of them before the soles give out, so I expect better for the price. I can not recommend this model.

Great shoe! You can tell this shoe was made for running! It's very lightweight and comfortable. The "POP 2" feature is great! It really encourages you to run on the ball of your foot and it makes the shoe very responsive. The Men and Woman of Newton Running definitely did a great job with this shoe!

Newtons are great shoes but over the years they are making the toe boxes smaller. So for me, this shoe didn't work. I have been trying to find a replacement for my old Terra Momentum's. Wish Newton would bring that old style back. As an aside, I normally wear a 9 in most women's shoes but needed something between the 10 and 10.5 in this model. Really bummed. If you have a narrow foot and toe box this might work for you.

Nice, lightweight running shoe. I always order a bigger size for running, but I did notice these are a little snug. Probably won't be half-marathon training shoes for me, but work well for a 3-5 mile runs. I like the fit and style of the Newton, but that extra padding on the front of the foot means they are only running shoes for me. I find them to be a tripping hazard (could be my clumsiness) when I wear them to indoor fitness classes.

Love these shoes. Very lightweight yet very supportive. Kismet II definitely runs smaller than Kismet I, I had to go up 1/2 size.

I definitely should have read the reviews before I ordered these shoes. They absolutely run a full-size smaller than a normal shoe. They are wonderful though and very comfortable. Zappos was truly awesome about returning and exchanging the ones I ordered for the correct size. In fact, the correct size shoes came the very next day!! Kudos's to Zappo's!!

This looks to be another winning design by Newton. They are lightweight, so comfortable in running 5-25 miles, and good looking. Love Newton's engineering and expertise!

I am new to running and these seem great. They are light, encourage the forward motion, and they are comfortable.

Great running shoe that encourages mid-foot strike pattern. Material around the first metatarsal is stretchable and conforms nicely to your foot. Extremely comfortable from the very first run. An improvement over the previous model of this shoe. Love the light weight of the shoe.

I love these shoes, but they definitely aren't for everyone. They have a very low heel-to-tow drop, they're very light, and they don't have a lot of cushion. For me, that means they're one of the few shoes that don't cause knee pain and shin splints. I also like the "lugs" and how they affect my stride, though I know that some people have a hard time getting used to them. I saw the other comment about the color. Mine are very bright pink, and the color seems accurate.

These shoes are great. I bought them for my boyfriend, who has had the Newton Motion III, and IV previously. He said that the tongue issues of the Motion IV had been corrected in this new version and that the shoe was comfortable and well constructed. The color is a nice green in person, and they look like a very cool retro running shoe with the white sole.

These remodeled kismet are slightly different sizing that kismet I. New version are slightly smaller and narrower, so didn't work for me:(

Excellent shoes! I believe that Newton people have done their homework over Distance V. Roomy toe box, enforced string holes and added heal cushion just made these shoes perfect! came in about 10 days before marathon and I did my PR!

There is a weird plastic on the shoe that the old Kismet did not have. I did not like that material or the way it caused the tongue to lay against your foot.

I've been running in Newton Distances for a while now. This generation just feels different: the lugs seem to have less depth and are less springy. I instantly felt midfoot pain. Not sure why they changed what used to be a great running shoe.

Fit was good, the uppers of the shoe are very nice. The lugs were very strange and I could not find them comfortable.

I wore these for the first time four days after completing a half marathon. They felt amazing. They have more cushioning than the Gravity 5. This picture is nothing like the real color. This shows them as a bright medium pink but in person they are darker and what I would describe as fuchsia.

Decent shoe but a bit too still with the added support that this model is known for...just didn't feel right

Love Newton Running...converter almost 2 years ago and can no longer run with any other brand of shoes. Super lightweight, raced a half marathon and marathon and PRed both thanks to the Newton Distance Elite. the 4 lug has great response and stability.
