Used 3 pair of the older model on an AT Thru-hike 10 years ago. No major foot problems. Toe guard would start to peel after a few hundred miles. JB Weld to the rescue. Wore them until tread was totally gone and inner sole was exposed. I could lace up a new pair and go with no long break in period. I am hoping the new model will have a better bonded toe guard. Even with this concern, these are the most comfortable boots I have worn -- I grew up on the AT and I have been hiking for 50 years. I own a pair of Breeze II low cut for fast and light hiking as well. Have lost toe nails with other brands, never toe problems with Vasgue. Still have a 15-year-old pair of Vasques - uppers still in great shape but tread is totally gone.

I've been wearing this shoe for perhaps ten years - long time. Value for price is good. Fits true to size. Very comfortable for the first six months or so. If you hike a lot, the cushioning - like any running shoe - will degrade over a year or so. The interior back heel is make of synthetic fabric and foam - that wears out quickly for me. Usually I order a new pair yearly and use the older ones for mud work.

These were actually comfy, just a smidge stiff. I would have kept them but found a softer sturdy because I'm using them for work. Other than that these boots are good. Sturdy but not heavy or huge.

LOVE these! I have a narrow heel and high arch, and had quite the struggle finding a comfortable hiking shoe that didn't slip. These are a dream. By far the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever worn, and the grip and weight is amazing.

These were actually pretty comfy out the box, and I had tried quite a few disappointments. They're not blocky or heavy. Nice feminine touch.

I did not find these comfortable and they run narrow and just tight all around.

These shoes are the least comfortable- no, most painful- hiking shoes I have ever used. I have tried to like them, because there is much to like. They are very sturdy. They are completely waterproof. The sole offers a sure grip on loose ground. But, they are exceedingly painful for me to actually hike in. The heel throws the foot forward- much like the heel of a woman's fashion shoe- so that weight is concentrated on the ball of the foot. Try that for a few miles and you'll come to regret it. I have used gel inserts and not solved the problem. I have used gel inserts AND foam and not solved this problem. The shoe's stiffness means that, for me, my heel lifts with each step. Blister city. There is no provision for an extra eyelet so that relacing might prevent this. Finally, while excellent on loose ground, their stiffness makes them quite slick on hard, wet rock surfaces. I really tried, Vasque. I have a pair of your hiking boots that are perfect. But these shoes are completely unsatisfactory.

These boots are great! They are easy to put on and take off. They are warm and keep my feet dry. Most importantly they are really comfortable.

Supremely comfortable. These feel like running shoes for snow- they are so light. Very warm. Slight challenge to get on, difficult to remove. Close fit through ankle. Grip is top notch - you will not slip. Look absolutely cool. I wear an 8.5 in dress shoe and Vasque hiking boot, I ordered these in a 9 and the fit is perfect (my running shoes are also a 9). I have plenty of room in the toe box wearing Smartwool ski socks. There isn't much room around the leg opening to put your trouser leg material, so plan accordingly. They are a modern mukluk. I'd buy them before they're gone and they stop making them.

I'm used to Merrell, size 9 in over a dozen pairs the past 15 years. These are a little wide. Been trying to find shoes that don't aggravate my plantar fasciitis even though I wear Sole insoles. After wearing them, the soles of my feet hurt differently than other shoes. They are comfortable while I have them on. Will be returning them. Not a fan of the color.

These shoes feel like I'm wearing nothing and are very light weight compared to other clunky and heavy hiking shoes. I have a long narrow foot and an 11M width fits beautifully. And they are very attractive! Win Win! Thanks Zappos!

Runs 1/2 size small and narrow. The wide is narrower than a regular Keen

Ordered several shoe brands and this was the favorite at first. He like the look and it was comfortable. Ended up picking a different one but this seemed to be a good shoe.

i tried the medium and wide width with darn tough cushioned hiking socks. i am happy with the medium width. they feel comfortable right away but i will be breaking them in prior to a 11 mile round trip hike in the smokies next month

Sturdy and impressive, these boots make my manly husband look even tougher. If you generally have to purchase wide shoes, purchase the wide option for this boot. I suppose it could break it, but because of its apparent robustness, it would probably take awhile. Your feet will thank you.

Felt smaller than marked. Stiff out of the box -ended up returning the pair. Never used.

This boot does run a bit narrow. Overall very comfortable, lightweight, warm and short break in time. Wears like a shoe not bulky. Would highly recommend.

True to size but lower volume then many. Very welcome! I wear a 37 or 37.5. I buy a 7 in running shoes, sometimes a 7.5. Ordered a 7 in these. PERFECT FIT. I have a medium width foot with a more narrow heel. These are low volume but they aren't narrow. I am able to snug them around the ankle, often a problem with boots. If you have wide thick feet and a thick ankle, look elsewhere.
