Betsey Johnson officially stormed onto the fashion scene in the 1960’s. She spent more than a decade designing for other labels before deciding to branch out on her own and create the world renowned Betsey Johnson label. Following years of successful high-end handbag, footwear and clothing lines she decided to diversify, and create Betseyville handbags and Betseyville footwear, which still showcased her signature style however at a lower price point.
In 2003, while on vacation in Mexico, Betsey Johnson bought a magical little hotel. It turned into a dream vacation home used for visits and a source of inspiration; she named it “Betseyville.” A year later the impact of the culture and surroundings influenced her decision to create a new handbag line and subsequently named it after her new found sanctuary, Betseyville. At that time Betseyville handbags was created with the same whimsical idea as the original Betsey Johnson handbag line. Due to the great success seen by the handbag line, Betseyville footwear collection was recently introduced.
Besteyville handbag and Betseyville footwear collections are both founded on the principals that Betsey Johnson herself created; to “brighten up and bring the wearer to life… drawing attention to her beauty and specialness…her moods and movements… her dreams and fantasies.”

I love these! Such a beautiful and sparkly way to store things.
The purse is really cute and I get a lot of compliments on it. The material is great because it is easily wiped off unlike a cloth purse, and the inside being black is nice because you don't have to really worry about it looking dirty in there after time. The heart is unattachable and most of the time I wear the purse without it. Overall, I was satisfied with my purchase. Space-wise it fits my needs as well; don't know if it would be good for fitting stuff for people who keep a lot in their purses. But, it worked for me because I'm trying to stay away from that because I can never find anything when I need it in that case.
This new Betsey bag had me at the bow on the skull. I'm a Betseyville collector and I loved this look. I have to say I was disappointed in the flimsy fabric. I expected more from the history and the price. Having said that I kept it and use it daily and get plenty of compliments on it. The material it is made from is just so thin - the bag has no form.

When I saw this bag, I was so excited to purchase -- the cute hat box style, with updated skull and studs are perfect. Unfortunately, when I received the bag, I found out that the execution wasn't as great. First, there is no hinge/folding on the bottom of the bag, so it can not open all the way. When packing a bag it makes more sense for the bag to lay flat. Also, when you pick this bag up, you will notice that the bottom and side walls are not that sturdy. You can't pack very much into the bag without it bulging and feeling flimsy. But the problem that ultimately led me to the return this bag, was the fabric. It is very cheap. Before I could even use, I noticed that the seams were starting to rip open. It was so disappointing.
