We were searching for a 4-slice stainless steel toaster with long slots and modern styling, not the units with 4 side-by-side slots and retro styling that most stores carry, because we prefer the look and find it more versatile for different sizes of bread. Had never heard of Breville before, but did see the brand named elsewhere as the best 2-slice toaster, so we ordered it. We couldn't be happier with this product. It's quality-made, with sleek modern styling. Some great features are a lift-and-peek option, an indicator showing how much of the selected cycle remains, a digital browning selector and deep (not just wide) slots to fit large slices of rye. My husband, who likes well-browned toast, is pleased that it toasts to the edges of the slice. I love that I can easily get very lightly-toasted bread. And you can even defrost frozen slices before toasting, or rewarm toast that cooled off because the phone rang or the dog had to go out! And there's a special bagel setting, too. Zappos had a better price than other sources.

I love this toaster! You can fit wide artisan breads in it because of the extra long slots, and the heat settings adjust easily, even during toasting. Nice sleek brushed stainless look, too.

I'm still on the fence with this toaster. I bought it based on rave reviews for consistency but I am finding that is not the case. If I use the same slot for both pieces of bread, it has very long slots, it does not toast the bread evenly. Works a bit better if you place a piece of bread in a separate slot instead of both in the same slot. Love the features and design.

This toaster looks very nice and has a nice profile for long slices of toast while sitting further back on the counter, making for more counter space. My magnetic toast tongs stick easily to it. It's easy to use, but doesn't toast evenly. It's not horrible as far as toasting evenly, and after trying three other toasters and reading many reviews, I've given up on finding a toaster that toasts evenly. I'm tempted to disconnect the wire that causes the toaster to beep loudly when toasting is done.

This is a nice stylish toaster with long slots for toasting long/wide pieces of bread. It looks nice on the counter and frees up some space in front of the toaster compared to our old four-slice toaster. It doesn't toast especially evenly, but it's not terrible, and after trying several toasters that were even worse, I've given up on finding a toaster that toasts evenly. The display of time left is convenient. The buzzer for when the toast is done is annoying and unnecessary. I'm tempted to find a way to disconnect the buzzer. The button to stop toasting early is convenient. Overall, I like the looks of this toaster, the long slots, and it does a decent enough job of toasting.

I used it for about a month now and all seven of us like it. It toasts and looks great. It takes little room on the counter. The top gets really hot (will burn) so do not touch! That is not enough to take a star away, but watch out if you have little children. Great toaster.

This toaster is just okay. It doesn't toast evenly on both sides and it doesn't pop the bread up high enough to get out, but then, no toaster I have ever owned, has done so. It does look good and sits nicely up against the backsplash, leaving more counter space.

This is a very good toaster and far better than the Phillips 4-slice that it replaces. We've had it a couple months now. Love the lift and look feature! Very easy to use. Our settings: 3 for lightly toasted bread slices; 4 for darker toast, thicker bread, or split muffins, and 5 for sliced bagels (the bagel setting works great). So far we have not needed anything beyond 5, so we're not sure what the higher settings are all about... charcoal? Directions say to unplug it after use, I guess because of the electronics in it, and we've had to adapt to that, but it has a great, easy-to-use plug. And the toasting could be a bit more even, both front-to-back and across a slice of toast. It also does sometimes launch a light piece of toast out onto the counter top. But these issues are minor for us. Recommended.

Blow torch is easier- really! Every toaster, from this one to more expensive ones have elements that do not function. This one is no exception. I did a great deal of research, as have many on the web. One of the the lifting "arms" inside the toaster came out of its channel when toasting a bagel. The elements on that slot do not get hot or red from electricity. As in most internet complaints, one side well done, the other not done. Toaster ovens seem to be a better way to go. I would assume lighting your oven broiler is more costly, but if you watch your toast, both sides will be perfect. Stay away form this product!

Love the toaster. The cord is shorter than I would like but it has a great plug with a hole in it for you to hold on to, as you plug or unplug it. The crumb tray slides open from the back of the toaster - this is where the longer cord would be handy. Love the long slots, great for gourmet breads that are oversized. Also, the bagel option is great for bagels or English muffins. Another great feature is you can pop your toast up to check without canceling the cycle.

We're very happy with this toaster. It toasts the bread evenly, fits in my cabinet easily and gets the job done quickly. I've had other brands like it that I didn't like near as much. I'd recommend it to my friends.

Had it for about 2 months. Working great so far. I like the long design. Does beep loudly when toast is done which can be good and bad depending on how early it is. But, I am certain there is a way to turn this off, I have just neglected to seek it out.

Love the toaster, Toast is evenly browned on both side. I do not like the ding sound at the end of cycle it is quite loud. Hard to make a piece of toast quietly late at night or early without disturbing other family members.Wish there was a way to mute the sound.
