Chippewa Reviews
If you are looking for an all American Engineer boot you need look no further. Chippewa delivers on all it's promises. Great buy.
These boots are great. They are the sturdiest boots I've ever owned. The quality is apparent from the minute you open the box. I'll never own another pair of boots from anyone but Chippewa, and since these boots can be re-soled, it's likely I won't need another pair period. The styling is also very versatile. You can dress them up or down. They probably wouldn't look good with shorts but other than that they pretty much go with anything. One word of caution to those who have never owned "real" boots before: don't expect them to feel like tennis shoes. They're very comfortable, but in a different way.

I have been shopping at Zappos for over ten years and have always received excellent service. Your company rocks! Keep it up Laura...
Can't say enough about these boots, well made, tough, great fit, plenty of toe room and they look good. Big Chippewa fan.

These are a nice looking boot. I ordered a half size down and the length is perfect. I have a good EE width and these fit me just a little snug, but with some breaking in the should fit great. The padded insole is thick which was good because my othro-insole fits the boot perfect. These will be a very comfortable pair boots for me! A nice boot for the money. Better than the Red Wing Iron Ranger boots I looked at the in the Red Wing store.
The boots fit perfectly and seem like they are solid and well made. This is one badass pair of boots. They take a little breaking in but the interior is soft and comfortable. The padded tongue and top area helps. While some other comments noted size issues, I found my normal 12 to be just right. Looking forward to using them on the bike for many years. I wanted something I could ride with but also be comfortable for walking around or even hiking. Being in the northeast the waterproof and insulation is also important for my purposes. Ordered the same pair from two other websites only to be told days later that they would be on backorder for 6-8 weeks or more (with no certainty of when they would actually ship). I canceled those orders and got them here for a little more money - but at least I got them as promised. Seems so simple. Thanks Zappos. I almost gave up on ordering a "made in the USA" product but glad I didn't.

These are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I just bought my second pair of these about three weeks ago and have worn them every day since. I usually have them on at least 10-12 hours a day. Recently we have had temps near 90 degrees and I have been wearing these boots; they do get pretty sweaty but after about an hour I take them off and you can hardly even tell. I have had others that once they are worn a few days they keep their sweaty boot odor, but not these. The big thing for me is the steel toes; they are roomier than other loggers. I have been in a lot of mud and water the past few days and they are 100 percent waterproof. They have a U.S. flag at bottom of laces which can be removed, but I leave mine on to show people that an American made product can really take the abuse that I put them through. Awesome boots, Chippewa.

Took awhile to break in, but are very good American made work boots. As of almost two months of hard work they seem to be tough and ready for a lot more.
I would recommend these boots. I have been wearing a pair of Redwing 968s relatively regularly for the last few years. Unfortunately, they are a little too big and I finally broke down and spent the money on a pair that fit better. Chippewa's boots fit better (design wise, not size), and look nicer. I intend to lather them up with some Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP to waterproof them and protect them as soon as I get done writing this review. A bit of care by me (the owner) and the fact that they can be resoled means they should last for years.

I was looking for some boots that would last a long time. I'm tired of shoes wearing out! I live in Minnesota so my first inclination was to buy Red Wings, but they're priced like they want to keep them, so I browsed until I found these. I bought them and couldn't be happier. First, if you are not accustomed to buying Real Boots, be aware that these have a relatively lengthy break-in period. I've had them for about a month and they're super comfortable, but the initially stiff leather chafed, squeezed and otherwise made life uncomfortable for a few weeks at first. Especially at first, the comfort of these shoes depends strongly on exactly how you lace them - leather doesn't stretch and give throughout the day like tennis shoes or jeans. These are made with what appears to be full grain leather - it's thick, smells good and is sewn together well. The Vibram soles are a bit soft but this makes walking comfortable and can presumably be replaced if they wear out. The laces were waxed when they arrived but have softened up a bit. They look sharp, and if you're worried about the huge logo showing, it is very faint and usually under the pant cuff line. I'd recommend these to anyone. They're easily the best boots I've ever owned and I look forward to using them for years to come. A note of caution - I usually wear a 10, and bought a 9.5 based on reviewers recommendations. They were still too large, so I returned them for a 9, and those fit fine. Also, if your feet run wide the least bit, be sure to get the wide version. I don't usually, but did with these and they feel great.

I have worn Chippewa boots for over 6 years. I broke both my feet in a fall so I have to wear above the ankle footwear. I had been searching for quite a while to find some boots that would keep mt feet supported and comfortable, hard to find both. I always bought boots at stores until someone said try Zappos and I did - great move. I always check to see when they have a sale on these boots, what a savings. When I place my order it arrives the next day - unbelievable. I don't have to leave my home or spend money on gas. The best part is return them no problem. I have never sent anything back. Thanks Zappos for great buys and customer service!
A very well made boot, the leather is top quality. You might want to order a half size small as they run a bit big. I wear thin socks with the boot and at first it was a little difficult getting the boot on due to the leather inside grabbing my sock, after a few days wear and some boot oil - they fit like a glove. These should last for quite a few years! Highly recommend them to anyone. Chippeawa - well done. As a side note - Zappos is number one in customer service as well!
These are a great rugged shoe. I got them for my husband and he said that the only part that needed a little breaking in was around the ankle. He said the arch support is good and if your foot is a regular width they should not be tight - if your foot is wider, then you might need a half size bigger. He has had this shoe before and it lasted three years with rugged use. Great price and a great boot! Will purchase again in the future.

As a welder/heavy equipment repairman for the last forty years, I've spent a lot of time in boots, and these are very nice boots. They are well made from good materials, and comfortable right out of the box. I especially like the fact that they are not a patch work quilt of small pieces of leather like so many boots now, some much more expensive than these. The light tread on the soles keeps me from tracking large quantities of mud and dirt into the shop and my vehicles. The inserts are very comfortable, and the boots aren't lined, which I prefer. Even the laces stay tied, while many other synthetic laces are always coming loose. All of this, and they are made in the United States! Amazing! I am very pleased with these boots and recommend them without reservation.
I really like these boots. Needed steel toe boots for work; I am a project manager. I tried many different pairs, settled on some Wolverines which were very comfortable but made my feet sweat really badly even in the winter, causing a pretty bad smell within a month... and they weren't even insulated! These Chippewa boots have no insulation and though they take a couple weeks to break-in, I look forward to wearing them each day. I think they look good, too; not as generic looking as many others out there, more of a subtle, classic style. Comfort is good, top of right foot rubs on a seam inside the boot sometimes; but other than that, very comfortable, and they stay dry and continue to smell like leather. I would recommend them to almost anyone looking for a long lasting steel toe boot who is on their feet a lot.
Rapid delivery of the item. Well made boot. Fairly comfortable. Chippewa boots run very narrow so I ordered an E width rather than my normal D width.

I liked these boots. They fit nicely, and were comfortable out of the box. They were not waterproof. I stepped in a puddle and when the water got up to the stitching that attaches upper water came in. I also think I felt water in through the sole. I am very disappointed in the waterproof failure.

Do not purchase these without having your feet measured. These are not sized like your average athletic foot wear. I typically wear a 10.5 in a running shoe but these are true to your actual foot size.

Since 1901, Chippewa has been creating footwear based on simple, fundamental rules. Most importantly, they use only the best materials, the best construction techniques and the most innovative technology. The result -- unquestionably the best
