Florsheim Reviews
The shoes are exactly as shown. Well-built, good quality, as you'd expect from Florsheim. They are solid shoes though, that have to be broken in a bit before they become completely comfortable.
I ordered these shoes for my husband as I know how much he loves Florsheims. They are stylish & fit him perfectly. When they arrived the next day, he looked at me & said that now he loves Zappos as much as I do.
The exact style I have been looking for several years. Finally dialing in on size; 10W in black and 9-1/2W in Cordovan.
I have had Florsheim shoes in the past and had thought that they were a quality shoe, so I ordered them without hesitation. This pair will be the last ones I will ever buy. They are surprisingly disappointing. Specifically, they are unconformable to wear. Whatever they put in the bottom of the shoe for cushioning is poor and clumps up and mats between the toes forming uncomfortable ridges almost the first day of wearing. I purchased black leather and the shoes have kind of a satin finish that is difficult to polish and shine. Perhaps the worst is the squeaking. I have never had a pair of shoes that made so much noise, the right worse than the left, forming a kind of squeaky cadence as you walk.
Very classic styling, excellent fit, comfort level high with or without socks.
I could hardly wait for my new shoes. When they arrived I tried them on. They slipped on and fit so well I wanted to go out dancing with my wife immediately. I felt like I was the dancer with the band led by Cab Calloway. Wonderful...
I am wearing them as we speak... Unbelievably comfortable and unbelievably stylish. As a matter of fact I just got complemented on them. Again....buy them.
I really wanted to keep these shoes but they just did not work. They are great looking and would make a nice pair of dress or work shoes but they are very narrow in the D width. The soles are very slick, though I know they will be better after they are broken in. Tried the W(EEE) width but it was much too loose. I guess it was not meant to be. Zappos was excellent and gave no problems with the exchange.
I really like the look of this shoe but it's extremely uncomfortable. I will not buy it again nor would I recommend it to anyone. My feet start hurting after and hour or two of wearing them. There are other loafers out there that look great and feel great for the same price as these. Keep looking, I promise you wont regret it.
Pretty stylish. Was excited about the construction for the price (Goodyear welt, leather outsole, etc.) but they only made it a month before the heel started to delaminate. I wound up returning them for a refund and got some Allen Edmonds. Definitely a step up in price but worth every penny. You can tell the difference in quality the second you put them on.
After seeing this shoe featured on some blogs, I decided to take the plunge & buy it. The scotch colored tumbled leather gave it some visual interested and the color works well from everything from dark denim jeans, gray slacks and my navy suit. It takes a devil of a time to break in, but they are now my shoe (out of 50+ pairs) that I wear possibly 2-3 times a week. I feel both sexy, confident and mature when standing in the same brand/style as my Dapper Grandad wore.
This shoe may be one of the most comfortable pair of shoes that I have ever slipped my "dogs" into. Great looking, well made and no other shoe in this price range comes close.
I have loved these boots and owned two pairs. So I can say with a fair amount of authority that, while these boots are beautiful and comfortable, they do not stand up to daily wear. I live in NYC and I find that these boots get cracks and scuffs far more easily than any other pair of boots I own. I have had my current pair for 3 years, had them re-soled once, repaired twice, and the cracks on the side-toe have finally worked through to reveal the tender sock within. This is definitely not an everyday-wear boot. Also, the arch support is middling, and requires an insole for comfortable walking.
These shoes are cheaper if you buy them from Florsheim directly. Use a coupon code and you get the shoes for less. Tried to get Zappos to match the price, but they wouldn't budge.
These shoes are extremely light weight, they are nice looking but I thought they were more substantial.
These shoes lasted 9 months with moderate use. 7 months and the toe of the sole started separating because the stitch started out. 9 months now and I need new ones. Could resole, but would rather go to a different brand.

Very comfortable shoes, but after 2 weeks, both leather soles delaminated. Even after having the local cobbler repair the bottom layer of sole, both have come loose again.
