Gargoyles

I bought these 5 months ago and loved them; however, they just broke. The plastic holding the hinge together gave out and it fell off my face. I don't recommend these anymore.

These new Gargoyles are not like the old ones, much less wide. The beauty of the style was that they fit a wide face; not so much now.

Gargoyles are very good sunglasses. I especially like the distortionless optics and large frameless lenses. They are very effective at blocking the sun from all angles due to the large, wrap-around lenses. Gargoyles have been around for a long time. I first noticed them worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger in James Cameron's 1984 movie, "Terminator." I have been wearing them ever since. This version of the classic design solves a long-standing problem where the earpiece would touch the inside of the lens and scratch them. New, improved hinges, prevent this from happening. Those who have never had Gargoyles should understand these are large sunglasses, and when folded are not compact.

I traditionally have worn Oakley polarized glasses for years. After misplacing my last pair I decided to try the polarized gargoyles, thought I could save a few bucks. I am extremely happy with these glasses, look and feel good. A bit heavier than the Oakleys but the design doesn't make the weight feel heavy when wearing, they are extremely comfortable. I love these glasses and am highly recommending them.

Nice glasses. Very vivid lenses, I even wear while raining, seems to improve visibility. Lightweight and slightly wrap for maximum UV protection. I'm not sure if I would recommend for a small head though. I would buy again.

Have worn Gargoyles since early '80s & nothing else. First time with this style & I am very happy with the fit & look. Very happy with Zappos service & timely delivery time!

I was amazed. The Zappos box looks like it went around the world and through two world wars. Thankfully, the sunglasses and the box they were in made it okay. Love the glasses. Will buy more from Gargoyles in the future. Great fit and finish.

Had no idea these were still available - they are the perfect gift for someone who lost theirs years ago! Beautiful, classic design, fantastic quality, great company to do business with!

I use the Gargoyles Trial in Black with Smoke lens and they are a great pair of sunglasses. They are very light and comfortable & they don't fog up at all. They wrap around great which really helps with keeping out unwanted bright sunlight when driving. Excellent frames and lens. Excellent design. I recommend these sunglasses. I would prefer a zippered lens case like the kind that comes with most Julbo & some Wiley-X sunglasses but that is a matter of taste and takes nothing away from the excellent design of these sunglasses.

I owned a pair of these several years ago and wanted another pair. No retail shop carried them. When I researched on the Internet, I found Zappos.com and had my Gargoyles in a few days. They are as good as the original pair and I am very satisfied with them. They are very lightweight and double as safety glasses. The price was less than what I paid for them 20 years ago.

These sunglasses are great. They are solid, comfortable and look great! The lenses are high quality. The only complaint is that you can see a reflection of the nose pads. This can be distracting sometimes.

I've owned Bolle and Arnette sunglasses before and liked them both, but decided to try Gargoyles because I liked the polarized lenses, the price, and the styling. This is my favorite pair of sunglasses ever. I wore them for 10+ hours a day on a week long fishing trip in high northern latitudes, and they were extremely comfortable the entire time. The polarized lenses allowed me to see farther over open water, and see well below the surface in shallow water. They also have nice coverage area, but the style allows enough air flow to prevent fogging.

I purchased 15 pair of these for a Bachelor party at NASCAR this weekend. We are celebrating Dale Earnhardt in style. Love the retro style, glad they still make these in remembrance of the number three.

Great sunglasses, exactly what I was looking for, though they ride a little high and glare can come from underneath which can be annoying. Zappos shipping was quick and efficient. Will definitely order from here again; was a great shopping experience.

Absolutely the best large, Wraparound sunglasses available for men like me and Dale Earnhardt. The 85% size is fine for women and pinheads, but fatheads like me need the fullsize. Strong and distortion free.

Best pair of sunglasses I've ever owned (and I've had quite a few, from the el-cheapo drugstore type to the $150 range). Be prepared for a much darker tint than you're probably used to with other brands. You'll appreciate it on bright days or in highly reflective environments. Classic's lenses sit farther out from the surface of your face than usual. They're essentially lab safety glasses that have been tinted to make them sunglasses. What this means is they don't fog up, your eyelashes never brush against the insides of the lenses, and also you can conveniently reach in and under with your fingers to scratch an itch or get something out of the corner of your eye.

These are by far the best sunglasses I have purchased in years. They are stylish and solid. No buyer's regret here.
