Icebreaker Reviews
Cute dress. Didn't fit me well in the arms or the waistline. I may try a large instead of the medium I got. But I'm not sure...I am 5'6" and weigh a muscular 155 with a bit of a belly. The waistline just hit at an odd place for me. It's cute though! And the wool even felt comfortable.
This is my first woolen underwear and boy do I love it! The fabric feels so light and comfy at the same time.Although it fits and feels great I must say it tends to bunch up a little due to the relaxed cut style.
This is a fun, versatile sweater. Personally, I think the way the model is wearing the sweater with the drape under the breast doesn't work very well. The sweater can be worn with the left side draped and buttoned at the right shoulder, open with nothing tied, draped across the shoulders and tied in the back or tied in the back (with no draping across the front). I think the tying in the back looks the nicest as it gives it a more tailored silhouette. I love the drape of the fabric. It is a light sweater -- not for cold weather.
I've never owned a skirt that I loved so much. It's made of natural fibers, is really soft and will match with anything. It's very lightweight and the pockets in the front are handy as well as stylish. The wide waistband lets me rest the skirt on my hips as high or as low as I want. Good choice. Go for it.
Best pants ever! They are comfortable like sweats (or the Icebreaker Rio pants) but have cleaner seams than the Rio pants so these can be worn to work in an office (certainly nice enough for business casual and can really be dressed up more than that). They will not wrinkle and can be easily washed so they are perfect for travel for business or pleasure. The material is light enough to hang nicely but are still warm. Unlike dress slacks, there is No yucky nylon lining to cling to you. The only negative is that they attract hair (we have 2 dogs) but a lint roller solves that quickly. The rise in the size small was quite low but the medium fit perfectly. Slimmer cut that the Rio style. I wear a small in the Rio and a medium in these. I usually am a size 4 or 6 with a 32 inseam. These are too long even with heels but they can easily be hemmed. I will be asking for another pair for my birthday!
Big fan of Merino wool and this dress is fantastic! The cut is very flattering, I'm a pretty curvy girl and this is going to be traveling with me everywhere. Another great shopping experience with Zappos.
Icebreaker is the first wool garment that I have been able to wear against my skin. And, this brand runs small. I normally wear a medium, large fits great however, the band around the bottom is too snug. Other than that, they are comfortable and soft against the skin. Unfortunately, I need to return it.
Usually after I run I like to take my shirt off and put on a dry one because I get cold driving home. So this time I thought I would test the shirt. I kept it on for at least an hour after I ran. I did not get cold and that never happens. Also the shirt was dry when I took it off, and it did not stink. As far as warmth it totally rocked. It was fairly cold when I ran, and I did not wear anything over it. So now I wonder what would happen if I put it under another shirt would it work as well? Overall it works way way way much better than synthetic or cotton. I love the color and the style is super cool. New fav. Next I will try the bra.
I was not familiar with Icebreaker until a friend in Australia who maintains an active outdoor life said that Icebreaker is his favorite, and that he swears by it. I cross-checked his rating by asking some friends in the south island of New Zealand (Icebreaker is a New Zealand brand) what they think. Both are female, both spend a lot of time outside. Same thing: they love it, they swear by it. My partner presented me with a 200 longsleeve top. I love it. It's downright mysterious in its ability to be comfortable in an unusually wide temperature range, and to keep me comfortable. I have fairly sensitive skin, but I can wear it next to my skin without any itching. And and like their ads claim, it doesn't "stink." Whether or not the prices are justifiable, I can't say. But I can say that is an extraordinarily effective and comfortable garment.
I purchased this shirt as a larger sized version of another Icebreaker short-sleeved shirt that my husband owns. The advertising on this shirt is absolutely true. My husband uses this Icebreaker style as a base layer when the weather promises to warm up during the day, and as a base layer for more formal shirts to keep those shirts clean and odor-free, in lieu of a regular undershirt. It does not itch, like other wool products. Styling is semi-fitted, not compression. The Icebreaker shirt does wick away sweat, dries in fewer than 15 minutes while being worn and remains pretty much odor-free for about a week. NO other shirt by any other manufacturer remains odor-free when worn by my husband, so that's saying a lot! When I can detect an odor (remember, about a week), I tear the shirt away from my husband's clutches and throw it in the washing machine (yes, it does say to hand wash) and wash it with other clothes using cold water to wash, cold water to rinse. (I use Tide with Bleach Alternative, Color-Safe, Original Scent, HE.) If we're on a trip, I wash the shirt in a sink and use the soap that the motel/hotel supplies. To dry from the washer, I just put it on a plastic hanger, after snapping the shirt a couple of times to remove wrinkles. From the sink, I twist out the water, wrap it in a towel, roll up the towel and twist the towel. Then I hang the shirt up on a hanger. In both instances, it will be dry in the morning, if there's any kind of air circulation in the room. The shirts are pricier than the synthetic fabrics that claim to wick and dry quickly and not retain odors. The Icebreaker shirt actually delivers on those promises. I'm looking for a good Icebreaker shirt for myself.

I fish the gulf of Alaska and Aleutian Islands. Our boat typically will make 40 day trips. I bought this particular shirt because I thought it would be fun to test Icebreaker’s claim that the shirt would go 60 days w/o getting smelly. Our first trip lasted 30 days with a turn around of 2 days in Adak. I washed all my clothes except the above shirt which I wore every day. My Gunden’s fleece pants stank bad. I wore those every day as well. So far so good on the shirt. 20 days or so into the next trip we decided to run into Adak again to replenish our water and grab some bait herring. At this point there was still no detectable odor coming from my shirt which I continued to wear daily. My poly propelene clothing though was getting fairly rank. I washed everything. I wished I hadn’t washed the merino wool shirt. After 50+ days, it had gotten so comfortable. It never did develop an odor even though the sleeves had gotten stiff with salt and fish slime. I love this product. Refrain from washing.
COLD? Buy this for layering! This is one of the only items out of dozens that we bought, packed, and used for Tahoe snow! (Being a Floridian I had no idea what to pack) anyway, it's not the cutest shirt, not my style at all, BUT it is PERFECT for layering, & it keeps you warm, so 5 stars!!!
Great Shirt!Very lightweight. Absorbs perspiration into the lightweight wool and evaporates. Does not retain a "sweaty" odor. Much, much better than all of the expensive synthetic Dry-Fit and Accu-dry shirts I have.
"Slim fit" means short - Very nice, soft, comfortable shirt. Sleeve length is fine, body length is very short. Icebreaker as far as I know only sells "slim" fit items. I still like the shirt, but it does run small. I'd have to flip a coin to figure out if I’d buy it again or not.

"It's about our relationship to nature and to each other" This is the mantra that drives Icebreaker
