If you have never worn Mephisto's Helen, you are in for a treat! Unlike most "between the toe" sandals these do not give me a sore between my toes! They last for several seasons and do not develop an odor like most sandals do. The spice (brown) patent is just what I wished for when I bought my first (black patent) pair ten years ago. Since then I have bought and worn several pairs in various colors - they are a hot weather necessity!
I had a pair of these sandals about 10 years ago but somewhere along the way they were sent to the thrift shop. While visiting my married daughter I saw her own 10 year old pair of these and borrowed them for a few hours. I had forgotten how comfortable they are! I mean, really comfortable. But here's the reason I bought a new pair: except for the inner sole which looked worn, the outer sole and the leather straps looked brand new. I actually thought she'd just bought herself a new pair of sandals. When I realized how the trustworthy Mephisto brand looked so good 10 years later, I knew I wanted an investment in a good shoe that supports my plantar fasciitis and my arthritic toe, is super comfortable, and must be attractive enough that my very cool young daughter also wears! And this time, they won't be going to the thrift shop. I'll probably get tired of them before they wear out in which case, I'll retire them to the back of the closet, only to pull them out 10 years later!
These are super comfortable! I absolutely love them! They run a size smaller, I am a 7 in sandals, but got these in 8 and they fit perfect. They are very soft and more flexible than the other similar sandals that I have tried. The strap is what holds the foot in perfect place, it does not feel like you have to hold the sandal it holds itself. Great design, look, and comfort.

Bought these to wear with my linen suit for a (sub)tropical wedding in Key West, and to wear them the rest of the honeymoon week. They are very comfortable, as other reviews state. The leather straps didn't chafe (was worried about that). And the front straps even protected my toes during a little dust up on my moped. The brochure in the package says to make sure you have some space around the foot, which would be good to know ahead of time. But mine fit true to size (ordered 44cm instead of 45 since I knew wouldn't wear socks). Just hope they wear well for the price.
These sandals are super comfortable right out of the box. I'm extremely hard to fit and these fit like a glove. Love the color, heel height, and excellent support.
The style was great, but this sandal did not have the arch support I need. I will order another pair of the Helen stlye.
These are very comfortable. Excellent quality. A little bit of break in time for the toe area, but fine after a day or so.
Beautiful sandal but too wide for me. The elastic and even the front of the shoe was too wide. I have a medium width foot and was swimming in these.
I ordered the tan grain Helen Plus after trying on the snakesin Helen. The snakeskin Helen was too narrow, Mephisto advertises these as being the same shoes, just wider. That is not the case. What I loved about Helen was that the sole was very soft. The sole is not smooth and soft on Helen Plus.
I love these shoes, they are so comfortable and I have had so many compliments when I wear them.I am thinking of purchasing another pair in a different color.
Love this sandal, the only problem I had was it cut into my toes. Hopefully will soften up in time, in the meantime I will wear a band aid for cushion. They also ran a little narrow for me but will get used to them. A size larger would be too big. Good arch support, I have plantar fasciitis so they were good for me. Love the casual style. Cute with jeans or casual skirts and capris.
These are a cute, comfortable, well made shoe and there's a reason that the reviews are so vast & so positive. Try them, I doubt you'll be disappointed. I wish I hadn't waited so long myself!
This shoe is absolutely adorable! I ordered the snakeskin print and it is extremely fashionable. I am 21 years old and would wear these anywhere. They were too narrow for my foot though. I have a wide toe-box area and I definitely see my pinky toe falling off the edge. That just doesn't look good! I didn't realize that the Helen Plus shoe is the same shoe but in a wide. I've ordered that so I hope it works! I just wish Mephisto made the Helen Plus in a cute pattern like snakeskin.
Very cute, but did not feel wide to me. I have bunions so was excited about several reviews reporting a wide fit. The narrow toe was pulling my big toe in. I wish Mephisto offered wide. Returned these but will try other Mephisto styles given all the great reviews.
Zappos has the absolute best service! I have been wearing Mephistos for years and they provide the absolute best arch support for my 62 year old feet. I put them on and they are comfortable right out of the box. I never take them off. They do not hurt between my toes, they are soft.
I love these! I have a few other mephisto sandals as I live in a hot climate (fl keys). I was concerned the toe would annoy me, but it doesn't. I love the red pop of color, it makes me smile!
These fit like a dream and are so comfortable. They look so sophisticated too and very grecian. I sent this pair back only because I already had the bronze color and these were just a tad too close in color to them.
I am so sad. :( These gorgeous shoes are too loose, even with my high instep. Mephisto sandals always soften/loosen a bit, so I need to return them. They are otherwise so comfortable.
I love the shoe. Great support. Sadly I needed to return because it bothered me between the toes on one foot, the other was fine. If you don't have fussy feet these are awesome shoes. Going to stick with the Helens, I know they work for me.
