Merrell Reviews
Very comfortable thong, but the toe spacer could be a little more comfortable. Clarks have a cloth toe spacer, and it's a lot more comfortable, but the Merrell's sole is really comfortable, so I kept them.
I had to order up a half-size (Zappos was great about the exchange), but now these are perfect! I wear them with thin socks because otherwise the heels rub (maybe they wouldn't after I break them in? Not sure). I love these shoes! They are perfect for walking around in woods, climbing trees, biking, and running. I love that the sole is so flexible and grippy, I feel a lot more secure and powerful in my climbing adventures! Awesome.
These shoes are awesome! Great style, super comfortable, & lightweight. They work great on the trails, on my bike, or walking around town. They do seem to run a little small so I had to go up a size, other than that, I love 'em!
Very attractive sandal. So nice to see leather footbeds. Feet must breathe, leather allows this. I hate a stinky foot and stinky sandal. Anyway, this sandal is for a very average foot. I have a wider foot with a higher arch and was a no go. Sandal isn't adjustable. But I highly recommend to anyone with an average foot. A very lightweight shoe, comfortable, very nice looking and also practical. Nice firm leather footbed will keep your foot cooler since it's not overly padded. No texture to bother a sensitive foot. Worth a try on.
I typically wear an 8.5. I have a widish foot, though when measured, it's just shy of being an official wide width foot. I also have a bone spur on the top of one foot and a jut that looks suspiciously bunion-esque on the other. Most shoes hurt my feet. For traditional running shoes I usually order an 8.5 wide width. I was worried these would be too tight, and even ordered the wide width right after I ordered the regular. But the regular width 8.5 is great, so I sent back the wide width shoe. I'm going slow as recommended, ran a mile the first day and two the second. I'm a beginning runner, so breaking them in slowly isn't a problem. It's not the shoe so much that needs to be broken in -- they are completely comfortable sans socks from the get go -- but you need to break your body in if you want to run in them. My calves are very sore today, so I'm not running, but this was expected. Doesn't feel like an injury at all, just like I'm seriously using those calf muscles which I hadn't before! I'm so excited about this shoe, I love how it feels to run in them, it really promotes the mid-to-front-foot-strike stride, which feels more natural and fun to me, like running when you were a kid before we were taught to strike with the heel, roll the foot forward, etc. Wearing them now to run errands and play with kids because I can't think of anything else more comfortable, and I have lots of shoes that I previously considered comfy, practical shoes. These are the best. I'll order more in future, I'm sure. Next I'm going to order the Merrell Barefoot Wonder Glove, for daily non-athletic wear. I hope they'll be just as comfy, but they look a bit more stylish, less sneaker-like. Although these are pretty cute, too. Anyway, as a beginning runner and someone with funky wide (and bony) feet, I declare I am in love with these shoes. Oh, and by the way, these aren't completely flat, there is a small arch. From what I understand this is a good show for those new to the minimalist shoe trend.
I've been a big fan of Merrell shoes for years, this new pair doesn't disappoint! Great for every day use, trail running, and lite trail hiking. Hard to find them around town though so Zappos is a great way to go. Ordering was easy, shipment status emails I received along the way are appreciated, and timely delivery is awesome. Thanks Merrell and Zappos.com!
Have worn this kind of Merrell shoe for ages - comfortable and easy to slip on. The newer one with dorsal slit makes it even easier to slip on and more comfortable to wear. Color is perfect for brown, jeans, black pants. Wasn't sure of the size -- Zappos sent two pair -- really easy to return the one that didn't fit.
This shoe is comfortable, solidly constructed and surprisingly lightweight. They're semi-breathable, but not as cool as thin canvas shoes, so wearing them in warm weather without socks is a little less than ideal. I think the thing I like most about these shoes is the sole. It's grippy and thin. I can feel what I'm walking on so it feels more like I'm without shoes, but without any discomfort.
These shoes are wonderful...so cushioned and comfortable right out of the box. This is my second pair; I wore the first pair out! Highly recommend, especially for those who need arch support and stability.
This shoe is exactly what I was looking for. As comfortable as a sport shoe, but a bit dressier. Good for an all-purpose travel shoe, it has traction on slippery surfaces. Runs large. I had to reorder a half size smaller. More arch support would be nice.
I tried the New Balance MT20 and Vivobarefoot Evo M of minimalist shoes and always found them to be too small for my size. I am 6' 3" and a size 13 US. I read the reviews for these and other shoes and noticed that they were all smaller than the marked sized. After ordering a size 14 US for the other too brands, they were still too small for my foot and returned them. Although I ordered 14 for the Merrell, it fits me just perfectly. The shoe is excellent, light, and delivers on what it reads. I have started using it for travel as it is very comfortable. Highly recommend it if you want a minimalist shoe.
These shoes are very, very comfortable. I have high arches and these shoes fit very well. They go well with jeans and any casual attire.
I can't wear many shoes comfortably anymore. This shoe is really comfortable giving my toes room. And I can wear them to work without worrying about what may spill. They seem very durable and well made. I ordered these shoes around 4 pm and had them the next day. How did Zappos do that? Were they outside in the bushes waiting for my order? Thanks for the great service!
Love these shoes. Comfortable the minute I out them on. Definitely run small. I usually wear a 7.5-8 and I found the 8.5 worked best for me.
No. Sadly, no. Why doesn't Merrell make a barefoot "dress" shoe that allows me to tighten the instep? I can't do ballerina flats - wide forefoot, very narrow rest of foot. I ordered these expecting them not to work, and they don't. The ankle tie is uncomfortable and does nothing to secure the middle of the shoe, which sloshes around. It also kind of ruins the line of the foot and ankle, which I didn't expect. I had hoped that the middle and heel of the shoe would be stretchy enough for the whole thing to feel secure with just the ankle tie, but no. A dress shoe with an adjustable buckle, please! And not velcro!
I work in an optometric office and am on my feet all day. Merrell are so easy to be on my feet. I actually wear the soles off them I wear them so much. I love Merrells my orthopedist recommended them to me.
I've been wearing Merrells for years, but these boots were extremely uncomfortable. I wore them for only a couple of hours while at work, walking around and standing, and my heels were screaming.
I do not think that these shoes run small if they are worn the way they are intended. I wear these shoes barefoot, and they fit like a glove. They were a little stiff at first, but after running a couple of miles in them they were fine. So far I've run probably 25 miles in them (on a treadmill) and have worn them out in public, and still think they're great! I have a slightly wide foot, and typically wear an 8.5. I think they would be fine with thin socks, but I've only worn them on my bare feet. They've got an antimicrobial lining, which is supposed to hinder smell-producing bacteria. Mine still smell fine, although I don't have particularly sweaty feet. They do vent well.

Beautiful, strong, well-designed boots, but just too narrow for my chunky legs. I am heartbroken at having to return them.
