Mountain Hardwear Reviews
This is a cute hat with maximum sun protection as well. I just hoped that the medium would not be too large for my head. It was too large, so I must sadly return this hat as it is too large.
It's a cute hat. I only wish it came in size small. I got the medium, on a hope that somehow it would work, but it didn't. Looks well made, and on many people with larger heads would fit well and look terrific.
These pants are super cute on but the front pockets show through. Not a look I like!
Love this dress. I get lots of compliments when I wear it. It's flattering. I'm a size 6 and bought the medium. I'm 5'-4", about 130 pounds, curvy. Fits great! Doesn't wrinkle. Plan to take it on vaca to Europe this summer. Fabric is super soft and smooth. Based on other people's reviews, I was worried about seeing panty lines through it, but I don't at all. I have the purple color. No complaints! Love it and love the super service from Zappos.
Love this dress! Wish I could buy it in every possible color. It is very flattering; nice weight on the material to show off curves not highlight the bumps! :) Material is soooo soft!
Bought these for my 6'2 250 pound hubby. He's in love! He put them on and slept in them after he opened them. He has last years as well and says he likes this version better. Wider waistband and tad longer
I bought this for my mother who lives near the ocean in So Cal where the sun is strong. She loves the color and functionality. She said the color is really beautiful and like no other she has come across. Very good quality product.
The seam that goes across the top? Not flattering. It gave my chest a squishy look, though the rest of the dress fit fine. Fabric is so soft.

Overall: Comfort: Style:
I was debating between this bag and the Osprey Flapjill Daypack, and this one won because it seemed easier to access the inside of it. I am a student that also works in a clinic where I lug around lots of stuff back and forth, so it is nice to have a professional looking tote that turns into a backpack when I am done with the day. It is comfortable, fits a ton of stuff, and very functional. I buckle the top shoulder straps under the front pocket strap when using it as a backpack; otherwise the straps are super nerdy and stick straight up. One thing that I do not like about it is that it does not feel cute and feminine. Being a woman's bag, Mtn HW should have put a subtle leaf print design on it or something to take away the utilitarian drab look. Though the tote-bag style allows for easy access to the inside, the front hook takes some effort to unhook to quickly get to your wallet/phone. Also, the padded laptop compartment is not really padded at all. It is a thin piece of fabric, so I still put my laptop in a squishy protector case. Overall, I wish it were a little more stylish, but it gets the job done and is very durable!
Great slacks, very soft and very comfortable; they seem to run a bit larger than marked in the waist. Length is perfect.
These will be my summer hiking pants. Lightweight, ripstop, stretchy pants with gusseted crotch. I have a small waist and trouble finding pants that don't gap like crazy. The built-in belt in these works well. I can cinch it way down and the pants still sit properly and look good. Hooray! The XL "Short" turns out to be 29", so I will exchange for "regular" length. No zipper at the ankles, so they can be hemmed up.
This is a beautiful, perfect cool summer dress. I got it in XS in the lavender (5'1” and 105-110 lbs.), and it fit beautifully. It's NOT a forgiving dress—it is swimsuit material and form-fitting. A big lunch had me sucking up my gut all afternoon! One complaint is that the pretty double strappy-straps are too long, making this more of a peep show than deeply low-cut. I have a dark purple Patagonia bra whose straps blend in, but I still might take them up on the dress. The shelf bra should work better then, too. It's a minor issue for such a very pretty dress, though. My husband said I looked so pretty for the first time in a while. Cool.
I was looking for a thin, but warm fleece-type jacket that would be versatile for layering and tried a ton of options from Zappos, and settled on this one. I could easily wear this under another jacket, and the smooth outer fabric makes it slide into the sleeves a lot easier than a regular fleece would. It is a soft stretchy fabric, which makes it a lot more comfortable than many other soft shell jackets out there. It's kind of a cross between those types of jackets and a fleece or sweatshirt. The fit is more flattering with the princess seams in the chest and waist than some other boxier jackets I tried. It is a little long in both in the arms and torso. The length in the body is nice for coverage when bending over and hits at a flattering point at the hips. The arms are a little loose and the fabric is stretchy and forgiving, so you could easily layer underneath. I'm 5'6, 165 lbs, size 12 and got a Large. The cons: I'm not a fan of logos, but accept that they are hard to avoid on this type of garment. This jacket has one on the chest, as well as one on the small pocket on the upper left arm. Also the drawstring on the bottom hem makes the fabric lie a little funny. I don't love the slight sheen the fabric has in the light - it almost reminds me of neoprene. But since I was specifically looking for something with a smooth finish (instead of fleece) that would resist wind, water and dirt better and not pick up animal hair as much, and be easier to slide another jacket on top, it works for me. I'm not particularly loyal to any outerwear brand, but I have a great warm and flattering down coat from Mountain Hardwear too, and I think they are highly underrated. Both times I tried several other popular brands, and just chose the product I liked best.
Well, I really wanted to love this dress, but I have a few issues with it. I am 5'8 at 138 pounds, 21 BMI and fit (I run 4x wk, and do Pilates and yoga daily). I ordered the blue which is a great color, but I refuse to purchase an expensive worth of undergarments to be able to wear it. You can see everything! You can see the outline of invisible t-shirt bras and there is no panty out there that doesn't show at least at the top. I was able to put on a boy-short style that eliminated the lower panty line, but you could still see the waistline of the panty. The small fits perfectly, the medium is too big through the chest (underarm wings), so the undergarment issue is because of the fabric and cut, not the size. The fabric and construction are amazing, it is a great dress, I just wish it weren't quite so clingy. I'm just not sure who would be comfortable wearing this dress. You would either have to wear it with an expensive worth of Spanx or with nothing at all.
Just a note for others that are interested in this skirt. It's very cute and comfy. Others say that it runs large, but that was not the case for me. I read from another review to order a size smaller and now it's too tight. I have to return it and get my normal size.
The best softshell/fleece hybrid jacket on the market. This outperforms the only other brand of outerwear I've tested in the mountains, Arc'teryx...and that is saying something. This thing blocks the wind, looks incredible, feels incredible, has enough pockets to hold basic essentials, and fits perfectly. I am 6'1", 180lbs and the large is stuning, not tight, but not baggy. Enough room for a layer, enough cut for a t-shirt. One star docked for cost, but if you search long enough they will go on sale. Please do yourself a favor, throw away every light jacket you own and buy this. It's such a treat to only need one jacket for all but the coldest and wettest conditions.
Wore these on a 3 day backpacking trip in the Pine Ridge area of Northwestern Nebraska. Spent time both on trail and in some thick stuff off trail. The Mesa pants held up really well and were pretty comfortable to hike in. I really liked the integrated belt system they have on these. Overall if you want a good outdoor pant that can be worn in a variety of situations i would recommend these. I've field tested them and they worked out quite well. They also have a pretty good price when compared to similar products from other manufactures.
I have not used it much yet. However, typical Mountain Hardwear standards - top of the line. This item would be perfect no matter where you purchased it from. This review is for Zappos, and they are awesome - 5 stars every time. Zappos rocks!
Sadly, this dress smelled so strongly (of paint?) that I couldn't even try it on. It's going back without me even knowing how it fits.
Great jacket. Looking for a softshell jacket that was a great price and a nice fit. 5'11 180 and a large fit great. Jacket blocks the wind and rain. The pockets are lined with a soft material that keeps the hands warm on a cold morning or night. Looked at the North Face Apex and Marmot Gravity softshells and this jacket seems a much better fit and durability. Looking to purchase another one soon perhaps in a different colorway.
