I searched for flip flops that come in wide sizes and this item was one of the returns. Based on that, and the good reviews they had received, I purchased a pair for my husband. Most reviewers suggested ordering up a size and so I did. I ordered size 11 wide and received size 11 medium. The foot bed was too long and so I exchanged the 11 medium for a 10 wide, informing Zappos that they sent the medium width in error and asking them to make sure I get the wide next time. A day later, size 10 medium came in the mail. Apparently the pickers at Zappos need to read the orders more carefully. Besides the fact that we still didn't receive the wide, this flip flop is quite heavy. My husband tried them on to see how else they fit besides the medium being too narrow for him. He reported that each time he picks up his foot to take a step, he finds the front of his foot strains to counterbalance the weight of the heel of the shoe. He said that the effort made his foot and ankle a bit sore just walking in the house with them. I'll be returning these shoes and writing again to Zappos to inform them that they once again neglected to send the wide.

Years ago, I had a pair of Chacos that had the straps all over, so I was excited when I saw these in an updated style. Unfortunately, they are so small that they are unwearable. I have even tried to stretch them, and have worn them on short trips, but they are blister-causing. It was my fault for being so excited about them that I wore them outside. I should have returned them. Guess I will keep to my Birkenstocks, which are infinitely more comfortable.

I have a narrow foot and multiple comments referred to this flop as being somewhat snug, which I wanted. My first impression was they were well built and were a perfect fit for my size 13 narrow foot. Unfortunately, after a weekend of wear they probably will not be worn again. Perhaps I’ll try them again after my blisters heal. The straps are somewhat abrasive or coarse on the internal skin side and blisters developed where the straps run over the great toe joint. Also, the straps are placed too far forward when coming off the thong heading towards the sides. For a large foot like mine it seems like the straps should extend further back over the side of the foot and less over the toes. It’s a good looking thong, which stayed on my narrow foot well. But, the straps are stiff and rubbed the tops of my feet raw.

I'm female and have a wide flat foot. Definitely not the norm. Normally wear a women's 8.5 EE. Tried a mens 7. The length is fine but the strap is still pretty tight after several afternoons of wearing around the house. The middle part between my toes gets uncomfortable after a while - I don't wear thongs very often, so maybe that's why it’s so tender. Don't like the sole either. It's a rough footbed, not comfortable. Have some Flojos which have a wonderful footbed very comfortable and comfy between the toes but strap is too tight - a womens size, given to me. Will continue to search. The Chacos will do in a pinch, for a few hrs, but not what I expected given the reviews.
I'd also recommend:

I've been wearing my Chacos with toe loops for years, and I love them, so I tried these.bi really wish I'd returned them. The footbed is fine in length and width, but the straps are huge. They don't stay on my feet properly, making them a danger to wear. I'll stick to my regular Chacos in the future.

I’m so disappointed that Chacos changed the style of this shoe. I bought the same type a few years back and it was much better fitting and higher quality.

Chaco made the best flip flop ever until they started making them in China. The straps are inconsistent from one pair to the next and sometimes even the left and right of a pair have a different fit. I ended up having to return the ones from Zappos. Had the same experience at REI where I had to sort through six pairs to get ones the felt the same but they still felt much looser than my previous pair. Thankfully Zappos customer service is amazing and the free shipping on returns is super easy. I’d pay an extra $20 to have a pair made in Colorado like my first pair that lasted twelve years.

First of all I have had a pair of chaco for 20 years and love them albeit a different style. The ecoTread i bought for the pool. I swim four days a week and wear them to the pool, shower, and home. This past weekend i was at a swim meet and walked around a lot in them for two long days. The side strap rubbed my feet raw. They never seemed to have fit properly. I am dissapointed

The footbed of this Chaco flip (we ordered wide) fit well, but the straps were way too short to accommodate my friend's foot. We've ordered one of the Chaco sandal styles in wide that has adjustable straps. We'll see how that works!
