My previous pair of size 10 Teva Teradactyls, (yes ages ago) are NOT made the same as the current size 10 Hurricanes. There is something different about the length of the sole (I'm NOT referencing the arch), AND there is something different about the strap which goes over your ankle. There was MORE velcro that could grab in the older models. The Hurricane size 10 has less Velco, I've measured it. So Hurricane size 11 had plenty, it's a larger size. BUT, for me the sole is too big, I'm constantly adjusting them. I THINK IT'S TERRIBLE THAT TO GET A 1/2 SIZE THE MALE CONSUMER NEEDS TO SPEND MORE MONEY FOR A TEVA SANDAL. This model should be made in 1/2 sizes. I'm sure I'll end up returning these. The current size 10's in the Hurricane are NOT made the same as the old Teradactyl's, this is terrible.

I returned this product shortly after receiving it, because I could tell that it would cause blisters and chafing. I have owned two earlier versions of the Teva Hurricane -- one purchased in 2001 and another purchased in 2005. Both of these earlier versions were comfortable, durable, and could be used for a multitude of activities: from casual wear to travel to hardy outdoor pursuits like paddling. As well, the earlier versions made great lightweight footwear for around camp while on hiking or backpacking trips. I lament the new design, which does not have the same padded pieces of fabric below the ankles. They are very uncomfortable to wear. I will keep my eyes out, and if Teva returns to the more comfortable version of the Hurricane, I would be very happy to purchase another pair.

This model used to allow the wearer to adjust the strap at the back of the heel. Now that strap is fixed. Wearers with narrow heels slip right out of the sandal, despite tightening the ankle strap. I will have to take my sandals to the shoemaker to be properly adjusted. Bring back the old model.

I am stuck with these ridiculous Tevas. I bought them just before a trip to Costa Rica. The website offers no information as to how thin, easily-pierced-by-thorns, and slick these sandals are. I would be better off in flip flops. Do not buy these if you intend to get out of bed.

I got these as a gift a few years ago for everyday and walking use. I had borrowed friends' Teva's in the past and was expecting to LOVE these shoes. I didn't. The soles are very thin and the "holes"/dips in the soles gather dirt. That dirt builds up and later feels like lots of little pebbles in the shoe. The shoe is also very wide. Like others, the straps seem very long because I have to tighten them so much. I was pretty disappointed and even contacted Teva about it and got little response. I would definitely not buy this shoe again.

This would be a great sandal except for the little holes in the insole. After a few minutes they really hurt my feet. I've had these shoes without the holes and they are great, but just can't wear these.

I bought these shoes for two reasons: kayaking/walking in water short distances; and walking a couple of miles as part of a vacation trip where I wouldn't have reliable transportation and didn't want to rely on my flip flop Tevas (which are super comfortable, but I thought would become uncomfortable between the toes after a while). The first time I wore them, I got a blister on my smallest toe, and I thought it would pass, but every time I wear these shoes, I get the same blister on my right foot, after walking 1/2 a mile. It drives me crazy because it seems to be a combination of the quality of materials plus the design plus my foot's placement on that one shoe. I.e., i think the design would be manageable if the materials were better/softer. I end up wearing them with socks and looking like a dork...but i hate to have spent money on shoes that i can't wear, so from time to time (like today) I think...surely I've toughened up my skin enough, and each time, I come home sporting a new blister and a grimace. I read one review that suggested this problem before buying these shoes, but I thought I wouldn't encounter the same problem as my feet are pretty tough. alas.

I wore my old Teva's constantly. They have been in Mexico, Florida, The Adirondack Mountains, Williamsburg, VA, The Outer Banks, NC, and Costa Rica. I would not take my new ones. The straps are too long and I cannot tighten them to make my foot fit with out the strap scraping the ground. The soles are not as sturdy either. I feel all the little pebbles. could not walk in these all day. The company should go back to what worked.

I totally loved my old Tevas - flexible, supportive, nice looking, simple. I wore them all day every day for several years and want another pair just like them. These are so uncomfortable: stiff, heavy, unpleasant arch pressing into my foot. I returned them and will not buy another Teva product until they are made in the US again.
