I have 2 boys (6 and 8 years) who are always outside playing in the woods and stream at our house or on their grandparents' farm. These boots are perfect for the mud, water, dirt, and fields they have trudged through in these boots. In each case, they have kept their feet warm and dry. (We haven't had any snow yet, but I am sure they will hold up similarly.) They are easy to clean by spraying them off if they get too muddy and they dry pretty quickly. I bought them a size bigger than their normal size so that they can be worn for longer, and my boys have just worn thicker socks.
The boot overall is great. However, without help, it is hard for a child to pull off. My nephew had no troubles putting the boot on but could not take the boot off himself. Which would be a fail at school when he switches shoes. So I'll have to return them.

Perfect boots. My son is obsessed with anything fire fighter related. He is therefore on his second pair of the same fire fighter rain boots and he has worn those for some part of every day for the last two years. Until these boots! Since he got his muck boots, he hasn't touched the firefighter boots anymore at all to my great delight. These are very practical, warm, comfortable and well made boots and obviously they got my son's stamp of approval as well. Highly recommended.

These boots are great. I bought a pair for my five year old and my seven year old. At first they said that the boots felt heavy, but now they are used to feeling the weight and the boots keep their feet really warm and dry. I highly recommend these boots if that is what you are looking for. My five year old sometimes needs me to pull the boots off for her, but sometimes she can get them herself. My seven year old has no problem taking them on and off.

Muck boots are great. I have a pair that I have worn daily for three years, and they are still good. Those cheapies they sell at "wally world" only last a month or two on the kids. So, I finally I ordered my son this pair, knowing they will last through the year - and hopefully many years of hand-me-downs (four kids). The only problem we have had with them is that it is hard for him to pull his snow pants down over the boot, which allows the snow to get in. As usual, Zappos offers a great product at a reasonable price with fantastic service.
My six year old son liked these boots when trying them on. He wanted to keep them but he was unable to take them off himself - a deal breaker for me. Otherwise the comfort, support and warmth were perfect. Just snug enough to make them tough for a young boy to put on and remove. Sorry to have to return.
