This was my first pair of snowshoes and I was not impressed. These did not stay on. The first time I used them I had to constantly adjust them. The back straps kept slipping off my boots.
Excellent product. Can't really ask for more surface area on a snowshoe, so it floats well. Crampons supply plenty of grip and the heel lifter is a nice touch for ascents. Price was $90 under normal retail. Shipping was quick. The box it came in was 5 times bigger than necessary, but who really cares.
These are the best snowshoes I've used, we have 3 other pairs at our house to compare with. (two are Tubbs, one is Atlas) First off, Tubbs in general have the most comfortable binding system I've used. Easy on, easy off, plus no adjusting needed once on. This model is nice because it has the heel lift, very nice when going up mountains / hills. I do very hilly terrain, if you are walking on more flat land, maybe consider the other Tubbs models. I've now taken about 6 hikes with these and couldn't be happier. No complaints. It's a shame these are now made in China, but what isn't these days? As always, great service with Zappos.
